Director of Operations

We are seeking an individual motivated to deliver effective, world-changing outcomes for our partners. This full-time position requires a strong background in technical and management skills, as well as a business acumen and understanding of operations in an agency setting. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in project scoping and estimating, working with sales and account management staff to plan for upcoming work, and coordinating between action teams to ensure adequate resource management and execution.

This position is responsible for the development and implementation of strategic planning goals and objectives augmented with specific metrics and measured results. Improve the operational systems, processes and policies in support of our mission — specifically, support better management reporting, information flow and management, business process and organizational planning. Ultimately, the position is responsible for achieving operational, profitability and growth goals.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead all client and partner projects to be delivered with excellence, on time, on budget, and within the defined scope of work.
  • Set clearly defined expectations for all project stakeholders – partners, clients, team members, vendors, etc.
  • Collaborate with Directors and Strategic Leads on overall approach to projects and their processes, as well as budgeting, resource management, utilization, and capacity.
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, strategic leads, and clients to understand and refine project goals. Set realistic timelines and manage changes in scope.
  • Play a significant role in long-term planning, including an initiative geared toward operational excellence.
  • Work with the Director of Growth on new business to manage incoming work and maintain work resource capacity and planning
  • Work with leadership to make decisions for operational activities and set strategic goals.
  • Plan and monitor the day-to-day running of operations to ensure smooth production.
  • Evaluate regularly the efficiency of business procedures according to organizational objectives and regularly implement improvements.
  • Provide management with accurate readings of resource availability and project profitability.


  • Identify, define, and document existing operational processes, resources, tools, etc.
  • Implement and manage process across all executed project work. Iterate and improve as needed.
  • Inventory existing organizational systems and applications and their effectiveness.
  • Implement and manage team adoption of organizational systems and tools.
  • Build a larger, stronger, more-capable production team.
